Idempotent

UPDATE: It seems Network Solutions has turned off their search “feature” where they register the domain you just searched.

Here is a fun little experiment…

  1. Do a search for a random domain on GoDaddy.com. I chose networksolutionsactuallyregisterseverydomainsearched.com. If the domain has been taken, think of another one.
  2. Then go to Network Solutions and do the search on the same domain. Note that the domain is still available.
  3. Now go back to GoDaddy.com and search one more time.

Hmmm. Seems Network Solutions searches are not idempotent.

It worked for me – the whois for “gofuckdaddy.com” says it now is available – from Network Solutions. A check with my usual registrar (gandi.net) which says: The domain name gofuckdaddy.com exists, and is registered with another Provider.

Hm… for some reason all your current post appear as new when ever I check your feed (with NetNewsWire). While wondering I also found that some characters are not OK. But I’d assume that’s not related.

    Maybe worth fixing.

    cheers

Torsten: Thanks for the heads up for both issues. Feed validation fixed. The repetitive post may be due to me having edited it recently. How many times has this happened?
